    strife: Continuous Shufflers

What effect do continuous shufflers have on the game? Do they completly eliminate counting all together, giving the player no advantage? Can they be used in the players favour? My local casino only plays blackjack games with a 4-deck continuous shuffler, with cards reinserted (and reshuffled) after every hand.... any help and feedback would be great.

    Strife,

Sorry to say, CSM's (Continuous Shuffle Machines) make card counting impossible. Card counting only works if you know the ratio of 10's to non-10's left in the shoe. With CSM's you are always playing a fresh shoe (off the top of the deck).

You can only play basic strategy against CSM's. The house advantage off the top of the shoe will remain a constant throughout the game, leaving you with a negative expectation game. Don't bother to play it unless you are just looking for entertainment. But, then, you are gambling, not playing as an advantage player.
