Well, there's hope for me afterall. I guess my brain is so used to level 1 tags that it fights me when I try to tell it something different.

I do, too!
Thanks for the hope!

Whose to argue with the masters! You and Don did a good enough job to convince me. Now, all I have to do is get used to level 2 tags. I know I'm looking FORWARD to the results, for sure!

I haven't seen that, but will look. I do have a copy of John's 1998 simple system using UBZ II where he is not using a true count but starting the RC at -8, making the pivot, essentially zero. Then he goes into simple deviations from that point.
I assume you had a chance to look it over, what was your opinion, John says with 1-6 spread yields almost 2 unit win rate? These deviations are even more simpler than what you give in your book.
Thanks,

When I moved to Vegas some 5 years ago, I lost quite a bit of my BJ info., including my original hard cover Beat the Dealer by Ed Thorp. I'll look around for John's material, but doubt that I'll find it. You may email John directly and get the info.
For the record whatever John said is Gospel.

I don't have that book but would be really interested in finding out more, particularly what type of game the 2 unit rate was based on, I'm assuming it's 2d though.

I actually printed the info, it's listed in the archived portion of BJ21, I believe.

Sort of thought you would say that. Thanks!

Yes, it is.
Okay, you and George have me digging for my copy and I found it. It was NOT BJ21 archives; instead was on BJMATH. Go here and you can read it:
http://www.bjmath.com/bjmath/counting/UBZcount.htm
It is called: "Very Simple, Yet Powerful, UBZ System for DD". hope this helps.

Praying Mantis: Sorry George, Gave Wrong info
John's system was NOT from BJ21, but BJMATH.
Here's the link:

My apologies for any inconvenience of my prior post.
