    Hollywood: QUESTION FOR THE ROOM?

When you frequent various casino's, do you retain the chips they give you.

Or do you just cash out whenever you are finished and get new chips each time you play.

Do you find any reduction in heat by already having your chips when you go over to a new table.

    Just curious,

I usually hold out chips....this is especially usefull if you do a lot of wonging as it looks really bad to buy in and only play a hand or two. On the Mayors site Cellini has a few words on buying in with cash vs bringing your own chips and also tells how to mess with the table counts to cover your wins....a must read!!! BTW thanks for the advice on my back. I know it is a problem a lot of players probably wish they had........damn it feels good to be a gangsta... :-) SM

    Hollywood,

If it's at the beginning of a trip, I usually keep them. If it's close to when I'm supposed to leave, I may go ahead and cash them if I know I won't be back to that particular casino. If you're leaving on a certain day and keep chips from everywhere you've played, it can be a real pain in the ass running around that last day cashing chips from all over town (Assuming that the casinos don't take chips from other local casinos). Sometimes coming to the table with chips does deflect heat. But not always. I'm not going to go into detail about it on a public board. I will say this; It doesn't hurt to try it. Also, if I play a session and notice that I'm getting considerable heat, I'll leave without cashing out and come back later on a different shift, or get a friend to cash them. In Missouri, you can only buy in for $500/day. If you play there frequently, you would want to keep chips from session to session.

In Missouri you actually can buy in for $500 every 2 hours. Each even-numbered hour starts a new 2 hour period, so if you time your arrival well you can buy in for a second $500 shortly after your first. If this still isn't enough chips for you, you are probably going to stand out quite a bit at the level you are betting. =) (Not that the pit pays any attention to the games, though...)
