    ES: Hi-Lo, Revere +/- , Revere Adv. +/- and HiOpt I

There is a thread below in which posters question what the tags are for Hi-Lo and the Revere Plus- Minus counts.

    2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 T A
    Hi-Lo 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 0 -1 -1
    RPM* 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 0 -1 -1
    RAPM** 1, 2 Decks 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 -1 -1 0
    RAPM** 4+ Decks 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 0 -1 -1
    Hi-Opt I 0 1 1 1 1 0 0 0 -1 0

*Appears in Lawrence Revere's book "Playing Blackjack as a Business" For single-deck blackjack

**Revere sold "The Revere Advanced Plus-Minus Strategy" by mail for $25. This booklet contains indices for 1 or 2 deck and 4 (actually 4, 6 or 8) deck games. The book does not contain surrender indices; the RAPM does.

Revere also sold a level-2 Point Count for 1, 2 and 4+ decks. The mail orer systems are sold by his survivors today. They were the state of the art in their time.

    Thanks. Some questions:

    1. Are Cac/7 and Cac/71 your systems? Tags? How does one obtain the systems?

    2. What is TKO? How does one obtain the system?

    3. What is DRed 7 (R) How does one obtain the system?

    4. How important is a difference of 1 or 2 in SCORE in the 1-4 and 1-8 betting ramps?

We need to get something straight once and for all. There is only one Revere ADVANCED +/-, and it is the one that doesn't count the ace.

The Revere +/-, without the "advanced," is simply hi-lo. It can be found in Revere's book.

Revere's BOOK calls what most players call Hi-Lo, the Revere Plus-Minus Strategy. It is ace-reckoned. The play decision tables in this chapter do not have indices. They have tables with either single letters, e.g. S for 16 v. 2 or two letters, e.g. S H for 16 v. 10, with the first letter to apply for positive running counts in single-deck games.

Revere's BOOKLET "The Revere Advanced Plus-Minus Strategy has tables with numbers, e.g. 0 for 16 v. 10. It has two tables, one for 1- or 2-deck games and one for 4+ deck games. The BOOKLET has an ace-neutral count on p. 9 and on p. 10, which has the 1- or 2-deck tables, "use the new count on page 9" is printed. On p. 12, which has the table for 4+ decks "use count on page 95 of textbook" is printed. This is why I describe both counts as Revere Adv. +/-.

    You're welcome.

    > 1. Are Cac/7 and Cac/71 your systems? Tags?
    > How does one obtain the systems?

Actually it's Hi-Lo with a side count of sevens which I've called Cac/7 and Cac/71. We could say that they are my systems . The difference between both is in the way insurance is played. Cac/7 uses Hi-Lo playing indices so you don't have
to learn a new set. Cac/71 uses Hi-Lo playing indices but a different index for insurance. You can find more info in the Forum Archives.

    > 2. What is TKO? How does one obtain the
    > system?

TKO is the True-Counted version of KO. Same tags as KO but different IRC.

    > 3. What is DRed 7 (R) How does one obtain
    > the system?

This is an enhanced version of Red7. The tags are (A-T): -2 2 2 2 2 2 1 0 0 -2 and it is played in RC mode. Here you count any seven as +1 and do not make a distinction between red or black which is an inferior approach. You can also use -1 1 1 1 1 1 0.5 0 0 -1 instead but I find it more complicated.

    > 4. How important is a difference of 1 or 2
    > in SCORE in the 1-4 and 1-8 betting ramps?

What you have to measure is the difference in percent, not in $.

    As Don have said Revere Adv. +/- has the following tags (A-T): 0 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 -1 -1
The other one (Revere +/-) is simply Hi-Lo.

    Sincerely,
    Cacarulo
