Don Schlesinger: With whom would you like to chat?

The Masters have been having a lively debate among ourselves, trying to determine who should host chats for you, our subscribers. Silly us! It occurs to me that, to answer that question, we ought to be asking YOU! So, here are several questions:

    1) With whom would you like to chat? It can be one of the Masters, or it can be anyone from the "outside," whom we would invite as our guest host.

    2) What specific topics interest you the most?

    3) What is your appetite for chats? Would you like them weekly, and, if so, do you need a topic and guest host for each of those weeks, or would you enjoy informal, unhosted get-togethers, where the chat software would be made available to you to just "shoot the breeze"?

We're here to accommodate you. Please let us know what you would like, and we will do our best to grant your requests.

I would love a chat with J. Morgan.

I am especially interested in ROR in roulette with ROL strategies.

It would be nice to have chats. I think that hosted chats are preferable. 7PM Pacific time is 5AM in my time zone so I couldn't attend weekly chats at this time.

    Thanks for asking, Shark

Can it be someone who does not work at advantageplayer and is not one of the Masters? If so, I think it would be nice to have one new guest host on every chat, letting the people getting to know different authors and authorities in the blackjack field. Ian Andersen would be nice to chat with, as well as Mason Malmuth and Ed Thorp.

How about a new topic for every chat? A proposition would be to list a few topics before each chat, and let the people vote for which topic to discuss.

Weekly would probably be the best alternative, as the traffic is not at its top (right?). Though, can't you have it on a "generic" time, like 4 or 5 pm Eastern Time, since the time is somewhat indecorous for the European and Asian suscribers.

    Thanks.

    Yes, absolutely.

We'll probably settle on a hosted chat every other week, and an open format otherwise. For the hosted chats, perhaps once a month we'll have a Master and once a month an "outsider." I kind of like that schedule.

Ian might oblige and I've asked Thorp, who is too busy right now but might join us at a later date. For personal reasons, Malmuth is not an option.

Maybe. But, if we choose guest hosts, then in all likelihood, the topic is predetermined. If it's Bo Loeb, it's going ot be "Blackjack and the Law." If it's Bill Hayward, it's going to be online gaming.

Sunday, 9 p.m. ET has proven the most popular in the past. It's open to revision.

Yes, agreed. I'll add them to the list of people to invite, although I don't know if everyone would be comfortable with Zender.

JMorgan would be my top choice.
Thorp, my old prof, would be 2nd.
Andersen would be an interesting choice, too.
