    98%: Magician's Ink/Infrared Daubing: Fact or Fiction?

Note that I am curious about this strictly for game protection and information purposes. In no way to I advocate cheating. I have heard and read numerous times about something known as 'magician's ink' or 'daub'. In short, what this substance is supposed to do is allow for an 'invisible' mark to be placed on the surface of cards which only shows up in the infrared wavelengths. One could then, allegedly, acquire a special set of glasses which would allow the wearer to view the marks on the cards. I have also been told that this method would fail in a modern day casino because their cameras are sensitive to infrared light.

So, is any of this true at all? Has anyone ever been caught attempting such a scam in a casino? I am inclinded to believe this is all a big myth simply because I cannot find credible documentation to the contrary and, everything which I can find related to this subject would be so OBVIOUS that no one would dare attempt it in a casino (sticky residue, big ass infrared goggles, etc.).

98%: Re: Magician's Ink/Infrared Daubing: Fact or Ficti

Can you point me to any links or cite any references where I would find more information about this? As I mentioned before, everything I have found thus far wouldn't even fly in a home poker game, much less a casino, because the tools involved would be so obvious to any observer.

And yes, I agree that marking cards is a terrible idea, I'm just trying to determine if this whole 'infrared daub' thing is an urban legend or not. I mentioned it to a friend and he called it BS and now I'm stuck with the burden of proof and unable to find any credible information.
