It is nice and modern. The rooms are VERY modern with flat screen TVs in the room and over the tub. Phone in the potty room.

The pool is large, but was crowded with screaming kids the one day I was at the pool. There seems to be a private VIP area, but I didn't check it out. Cherry also has a cabana and pool area off the backside of the nightclub.

Plenty of food choices from buffet to steakhouse.

The casino is laid out like most modern places with a center, circular bar breaking up the floor.

It tends to attract locals and hip, youthful gamblers (21-40). I've seen celebrities there as well.

Downside: distance from the rest of the Las Vegas scene. You are a solid 20 to 30 minutes back to the Strip if you plan on casino hop.

Hope this helps, but if you have more specific questions, just ask.

    Good cards to you,
    Wolverine

jblaze: actually 1 more question, players cards

Should I sign up for one? I plan on playing at RR and a few other places, DD games... RR will know my ID for check in, and I do plan on a couple (1 or 2) visits a year.

What are your guys' thoughts on comp cards anyway? I've always avoided them, but it would be nice to get a room paid for, though I don't know what limits/time frame/skill level you would need for that.

I'm probably the least qualified member to answer this question, but I'll give you my 2 cents...

If you play a strong game, at some point you're going to get "the tap" and get barred no matter what. Upside? You might as well enjoy the comps along the way. Downside? They'll know your real name and be able to make a note in the computer system linked specifically to you--burning you for darn near forever. I recently checked a players club account that I was 86'd on a few years back, and I'm still in their computer. However...I can play in their casinos to this day since I don't use a players card when I play. I don't get any comps, but I just use their $$$ to buy my dinners and shows. Why give them a head start on figuring out who you are, unless you really want the comp????

The good news at RR is that this is a Station Casino and has limited interaction with other casinos (GVR, Fiesta, Station, etc...) so a barring might not cost you ALL of Las Vegas.

Hope this helps, but I will certainly defer to the wiser professionals that peruse this forum. Their experience trumps mine by a mile!

    Parker: Get the card

Station casinos are very big on their players card system. If you refuse to get one, you will be hassled every time you sit down at a table. Much easier (and less conspicuous as well) to just get the card.

    jblaze: Thanks, and in general...

What are your recommendations on cards everywhere? Does it really vary by crosstalk between owned casinos?
