Coug Fan: Vegetarian dining in LV?
I?m trying to arrange a group dinner for ~20 friends in Vegas. We?d like to go as a single group. A significant portion of the group will be vegetarian/vegan, so a steakhouse is out.
I?ve found one or two places in some of the nicer casinos on the strip, but for a group our size, they want to book us through group dining and charge us a $2000 minimum, which is way out of budget for our group. If need be, we?re willing to walk in as 3 groups of 7 or something like that.
So the criteria we?re looking for are:
1. Good for groups
2. Vegetarian ?friendly?
3. On/Near the Strip or Downtown
4. Price range of $30-60/person for dinner (I think this is reasonable, or am I way off base here?)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hard 8 :: ::: Re: Vegetarian friendly
Had a real nice experience with a large group (20) at Olives at the Bellagio. They have two menus, a $40 and a $50 pp, each of which included veg options. About a fourth of our party were vegetarians (no vegans, however,) and all enjoyed it. The food was excellent, and the service was absolutely outstanding.
The place is a little too snooty for me, but the whole rest of the family loves that schtick.
It's easy to get to (use the North valet entrance), has a nice view of the fountains, and the staff that handles the reservations was very gracious and helpful (Edith Varela, et. al., phone 702-531-3876), which was nice, because you can't book large groups on-line.
I also recall tha Hugo's Cellar in the Four Queens can accommodate vegetarians well, despite its (deserved)reputation as a steak joint. I don't remember details, but I think it was a little more pricey.
You might also check out websites www.vegdining.com and www.vegeats.com, which I have never done for Vegas.
Good luck.
