Titan5: Re: Hotel pool health risks

I don't mean to defend the casinos. The real danger is the mosquito bites. That's the way people got sick with West Nile virus, not the exposure to the sick ducks or dead birds. The pool itself (with virus) poses no risk to the tourists. The infected ducks just indicate the area around has the virus. BTW, to prevent mosquito bites you can use insect repellants such as OFF!, which costs only a couple of dollars or less. Hope this info helps.

I did point out that the risk was not from the ducks, but from mosquitos specifically. However, the findings indicate that the diseases has made it's way into Las Vegas, and to a very busy area ? not just the usual outlying areas or our naturelands outside of town. Because these diseases, when found in NV, are usually up north near the lakes, or outside of Vegas, I merely pointed out that any visitors should be aware of the findings and take any action they feel is appropriate.
