    Bettie: Nice report!

Regarding the Showgirls of Magic, I saw that a couple years ago when I took Viktor for his birthday. They had 4 showgirls at the time (I think), and Tiny Bubbles was also in the show (did the dwarf come out for the Sonny and Cher duet?). They also had a couple other intermission-type acts, including a guy who did his act both in this show and at "V" the variety show at the Venetian (the guy with the masks). It's a small, cramped room and the magic isn't very good, but the show was fun and campy. They had re-tooled it a bit since I had seen it, I heard, but it closed last week as preparations for the Hooters Casino get underway.

Greasy John: I like the Golden Gate too.

I stayed in their hotel once. Check out the rooms on the second floor. They are part of the original hotel and the doorways to the rooms are small. I've always enjoyed this quaint, pretty-well maintained place. And the deli is a great place for an inexpensive late night snack. No more single-deck though .

Albuquerque Slim: Re: Trip Report Link

Sounds like a great time. Since we just bought our first house and our bankrolls ain't what they used to be, we'll be low-rolling again on our next trip. Is there still single deck at the (las) Vegas Club?

    Jay: Response To Responses

Thanks for your responses. Needless to say, since I posted my report on a generic type site, I refrained from going into much advantage play info. I play using KO, 1-6 spread at SD & DD. I did fine early in the trip, but couldn't win my way out of a paper bag after the 2nd night. One thing I forgot to mention was a trip to the Hard Rock to get their coupons (we both lost the matchplays). I didn't like the place that much, even though I'm a rocker from way back. It was a weeknight and the minimums were high except for the 6:5 tables.

Yes Bettie, the dwarf did come out and sing "I Got You Babe" with Tiny, I almost forgot about that part, very funny.

Greasy thanks for your take on the Golden Gate rooms. I've never stayed there, but I will now consider it an option. The other thing missing from the GG is their promo for 2:1 BJ for an hour coupon. I never had the chance to use it, but I read stories of people getting heads-up on a CSM there when they offered it and kicking butt.

Slim, there's still SD 3:2 at LVC but it's $10 minimum, and after Barrick took over they only deal one hand to 5 or more people at the table before shuffling. Believe it or not they carried that over to the Gold Spike $2 table as well. Now that Barrick is being bought out, hopefully the conditions will change.

With apologies to Trackjack & CBJN, here are my top downtown low roller games:

4Q SD $5/10 minumum Depending on the dealer you may get RO7 even with the cut card.

Plaza DD DAS $5 Discard notch good pen, dealer stands on soft 17.

LVC DD DAS $5 Discard notch good pen.

ElC SD $3 Lots of inexperienced dealers, watch for mistakes.

Fitz DD DAS $5 Pen ok to bad, spread to your heart's content.

Binion's DD DAS $5 Pen no worse than Fitz's, but I miss the old days.

MSS & Lady Luck SF21 $5 Aggressive spread needed to take advantage of these games.

Thanks again, and good cards to all.

    Jay
