SOTSOG: Just Enough To Ruin My Day.

Harrah's President Gary Loveman discussed his company's merger plans in a conference call with Wall Street analysts and announced his company already is considering closing the high-roller areas in Caesars Palace because it would duplicate those at the off-Strip Rio hotel-casino.

He expanded on the preliminary plans in a conference call announcing Harrah's second-quarter earnings, and said his company can boost operating margins at Caesars Palace and other Caesars Entertainment properties by cutting back on high-roller operations and adding more slot machines throughout the casinos.

I would comment, but I really don't know what to say.

Positively sickening. Since 1975, Caesars has been my favorite place to stay, and to play blackjack in the whole world, and I have surely played more hours there than in any other casino. I am truly dismayed that Harrah's will, inevitably, turn the most famous casino in the world into a toilet bowl.

... well, welcome to the low roller pits. Have a seat and I'll make you change for some reds.

Tell me this isn't going to happen! Does Harrah's have no shame at all? Don't bother to answer that!

You're comparing the Horseshoe (even in its heyday) to Caesars Palace? There's a lot farther to go to ruin Caesars than there was to ruin the Horseshoe.

Never underestimate the power of the corporate beancounter.

In defense of the bean counter .. they do know how to count. Look around; seems every casino is slowly but surely turning into a video arcade for adults.

The bean counters are only giving the (majority) of people what they want.

    Sad.

Who wanted 6/5 BJ ? Please I am not trying to flame your post, just highlighting that the beancounters can force something onto the public who are too lazy/unaware that there is something else out there.

    Surprise, surprise!!!
There is no place that Harrah's can not ruin for gamblers who have any idea of how to play their games of choice.
Ceasar's Slot Place will be the new name.
Slot players from other Harrah's casinos throughout the country will get offers to stay at Ceasar's and will fill the place with slot players.
It also makes me sick when I watch the World Series of Poker and the head beancounter gets on with his problem gambling message. All I can think of is the drunk guy at the Harrahshoe that they continued giving drinks and taking his money even after gaming told them to stop. I wonder if this commercial is the penalty they paid or the way to avoid a penalty. Anyway, we know who owns the Nevada Gaming Board.

Oh I meant to say Palace but since seeing your message and thinking about my love for Harrah's, I think no place they own can qualify as a palace, so perhaps place or joint or in a few years Caesar's Dump might work.
Blackjack will pay 2/3 to 1 at the vestule virgin pit.
