    Knight Of Dawn: Casino Hopping

    Hello Everyone =)

For those of you who are currently playing downtown single deck games, what casinos do you recommend, how many hours per day in each is relatively safe, and how many hours a day do you usually play?

    Thanks

Single deck tables are plentiful at the Horseshoe, El Cortez, Las Vegas Club, and Western.

A table or two can also be found at the Golden Gate, Four Queens, and Lady Luck. Save these for off-peak hours as they tend to be crowded.

Don't play more than one session per shift, and keep sessions under an hour.

The Western and El Cortez are both somewhat sleazy, if that bothers you.

The Western is a few blocks east of the Fremont St. Exerience. Don't walk there alone late at night unless you look like Hulk Hogan (or The Incredible Hulk) or can legally carry a gun.

Agree with Parker. I have played all of the casinos he mentioned except El Cortez & Western. (Too muck heat for my level of play-heavy green) Keep sessions to an hour at most. Recently barred from LVC 45 min into an hour session by a PC who was counting with me. Didn't tap me but told the next shift "no more BJ." You can play multiple sessions in each but on different shifts. Don't be there when the shifts change.

I play 6-10 hours per day on average. Mostly late night hours when I can get heads up games.

Don't forget some of the 2D games. Last time I played Lady Luck pen was up to 75-85% depending on the dealer.

Thank you all for the helpful responses =)

Could someone please list when the shifts are? I'm assuming they are day, swing, and graveyard. Do they vary much between casinos?

Speaking of getting tapped, I understand that most of the downtown casinos are independently owned, so word of your being a counter doesn't necessarily spread amongst all the casinos.

    Thanks!

Very generally speaking, graveyard is midnight to 8 a.m., day is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and night 4 p.m. to midnight. Many casinos will vary by an hour, and I know that the Stratosphere has a strange schedule, with grave starting at 3 a.m. (at least, that's what an employee told me last year). Like I said, it's a generalization, and you'll find many casinos actually start grave at 10 p.m. or 11p.m. It's all management preference, as far as I can tell.

The do indeed vary considerably by casino, but many of the downtown joints use the following schedule:

    Day: Noon - 8:00 pm
    Swing: 8:00 pm - 4:00 am
    Grave: 4:00 am - noon.

It is also quite common for the floor people to change shifts an hour ahead or behind the dealers, in order to ensure a smooth transition.
