Going to LV in 10 days. I've already figured out my BJ schedule and strategy and I'm armed with my Trackjack charts. BUT....Could anyone give me some hints on non-gaming "must" things to do and see for my first visit? I definitely want to take some time to see a few sights and I would appreciate any hints on gambler's bookstores/equipment places; family oriented things.

1. Wet N' Wild waterpark (next door to Sahara) is a lot of fun, and a great afternoon diversion from the tables. Unfortunately, most tourists have missed it over the years, but it's a hidden gem... Go now; it will likely be torn down before your next visit.
2. I know it's cliche, but Hoover Dam is pretty cool. It's worth the trip.
3. Catch the Pirate Battle at Treasure Island. It, too, will be a dinosaur soon.
4. The fountains at Bellagio are amazing.
That's about all that comes to mind right now. The south strip (MGM/NYNY area) has a lot of touristy stuff that might be family-friendly, but none of it is really a "must-do."

1. The light/water show in front of Bellagio.
2. The volcano at Mirage.
3. The pirate battle at Treasure Island.
4. Forum shops at Caesars Palace (hey, you don't have to actually buy anything).
4. Fremont Street Experience downtown.
All of the above are family-friendly, and better yet, free.
