methodman: need info on station

Noticed the other day while playing at the station that they seem to have some sort of device that tracked play. The main boss was not even watching the game he proceded to come over look at the device then bammmo he rallied over to the tele and mentioned what type of system I was using.

Whats the good word on this?

I stayed there several days about a month ago. You must be referring to the flat screen computer displays that are attached to all the BJ tables. When you buy in, the dealer swipes your players card on a reader on top of the monitor, and then touches the screen to show your location at the table. (BTW, they REALLY pressure you to get a players card if you don't have one. They've got a machine right there in the pit to make 'em.) After the dealer swipes your card, the Pit guy will come and punch in the amount of your buy-in & bet size. I think this is mostly to track your play for comp purposes, although it could very easily be used also to track advantage players because there are probably also monitors 'in the sky'. Because I was betting mostly $5. or $10. minimums, I wasn't really concerned. I would guess that the situation you described was a coincidence, unless you were winning bigtime. What really seemed to screw up their system was if you changed your position at the table 'cause the dealers seldom would update the change on their monitor.
