Bettie: Major changes at Treasure Island

Below is a link to today's R-J story about the upcoing changes at Treasure Island, including a name change to TI. The skull marquee is leaving, they're getting rid of Mystere, and they are sexi-fying the Pirate show. Take pictures and see the shows while you can (before early summer).

Anyone who's been there lately shouldn't be surprised, as they've spent the last few years changing the interior. I personally loved the interior, but this is Vegas - nothing lasts in Vegas!

I just realized that in the entire article, there is not one word about the casino or games.

Here is the "word" you are looking for:

"last year we cash flowed $100 million dollars"
(they didn't do that renting rooms)

    and

"we want to get back to the old Vegas"
(hopefully that might translate to the old Vegas games)Probably not!

I stayed at Bellagio all week last week. I spent a good amount of time playing at TI. I love craps and play almost every day. Still trying to get my Black Jack wings ;-)

Well I played craps Wednesday night, returned friday and they had removed two craps tables by the high limit room and replaced them with 4 black jack tables. That darn table in the back was my favorite craps table :-( I often played this table alone both day and night.

There were also quite a few single deck tables. Limits of $5 and $10. Didn't stop to check the rules to see if they were squeezing somehow.

They most certainly were/are. These are the infamous ripoff games in which blackjack only pay 6:5. Do not play this game! See related thread on the main blackjack page.

    Gadzooks!

No wonder why all the tables had people sitting at them, but the single deck tables were mostly empty.
