Norm Wattenberger: CV V6 Planning
CV Blackjack V6 is not due out for a long time. But, I like to start planning early. Any suggestions are welcome. I would like particularly to work on the user interface this version. But, all areas are open to suggestion.

Suggestions for CVData: It would be nice if you could simulate different systems (running count and true count) for betting and playing. An example would be BRH-II running count for playing and insurance decisions, then simply subtract 1 for each ace and use Zen true counted for bet determination. Also if you could use the rich/ poor ace side count with a running count system. One other suggestion would be to be able to define tag values for each individual card in the deck. For example count the 2 of Hearts, Diamonds, and Spades as +1 but the 2 of Clubs as zero. Seems crazy but there may be advantages.
Suggestions for CVBJ: Index test... be able to drill all indices in your strategy (Hit/ Stand, Double, Surrender, Split) in one run rather than only one group at a time. Also the composition dependent indices don't seem to register on the drills (surrender 8,7 at different index than 15).

This can be done now. Use the Betting Side Count button.

In what manner?

You can do this for side bet side counts.

There is a problem wit this. Suppose you have 15vT. Are you being tested on the Hit/Stand or Surrender index?

Should. I'll take a look.

Hey Norm, takes big stones to leave a post like this . . . thanks! More card counting drills would be great. Also to be able to create a training deck like in Million Dollar Blackjack (pg 110).
Also under drills:
To be able to fly thru the deck quickly with out resolving each hand but not automatically, i.e. by pressing enter.
Set the number of cards to display, 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc. at a time, and then just fly thru them if you are at zero at the end you know you counted correctly, just like a real deck.
For the game portion, a compatibility with touch screen pcs like HP. you'd have the most realistic blackjack game ever.
Thanks for a great program!!!

I won't be writing for the iFad until Apple vastly changes its unethical, illegal treatment of developers and its extremely closed environment.

The problem with such decks is they can reinforce bad habits as they do not correct your errors.

Set the drill to Quick Count and the Timer Mode to Count Up.

Touch screen can be used for most things. In particular hit/stand in a realistic manner. I have the ability to display thumb touch buttons for the UMPC touch screen. I might expand on that.
