    Norm Wattenberger: Index generation

For any given situation, all possible hands for that situation at all requested penetrations are simmed according to their frequencies of occurrence. The methods used to determine the frequencies differ by type of hand, sometimes using a separate simulation and sometimes calculated by combinatorial analysis. All counts are simmed according to their frequencies given at each penetration given the removal of the original hand.

Double pass is an option used in risk-averse index generation. When risk averse indexes are calculated, advantages and standard deviations at each count must be taken into account. However, the use of these indexes will change those numbers, meaning that the calculations will be slightly inaccurate. A second pass will bring these calculations into line. However, it's a waste of time. The differences just aren't that great.
