    Joe Wilson: Confusion on indices

    Norm,

I was looking at the Hard Hit/Stand Matrix in CVBJ4 for UBZ11 Composite. What confuses me is what to do when I have a 12 and the dealer is showing a 4, 5, or 6.

According to the chart, I should be hitting when the value(s) are less than 1, -3, and -3, respectively. However, since the count starts at -22 for a 6D, it seems as though I would be hitting this hand whenever there is a freshly shuffled deck and this doesn't seem right.

This would make sense to me if I was operating with a true count, however not with the running count that the UNZ11 uses.

I noticed the KO systems (also uses a running count) behave in a similar manner.

    Regards,

    Joe

Actually, the CVBJ numbers for UBZII come from a pre-publication copy of George C's documentation and they have changed. I'd go with his new numbers.
