Mike H: new Barona 1 Deck $50 limit

I was at Barona today and they had a 1 Deck game with $50 table minimum. The dealer was dealing 2 rounds to 3 players and 3 rounds to 2 players. He said 4 players still get 2 rounds and 1 player gets about 5 or 6. Not sure if this is Casino policy but glad to see the $50 minimum down from $100. The table was just outside the High Limit room.

By the way, stopping at 3 rounds to 2 players is better than dealing half the cards because when you do get the fourth round it will generally be at a negative count.

Let's hope it lasts as I also played it recently. I'm not sure of it's open hours as I've only seen it mid am to early afernoon.

This last statement may be incorrect but not by much.

Sounds like a shit game to me. it should be 4 rounds to 3 players or minimum 3 rounds to 3.6 rounds heads up is good but im sure they watch it like a hawk.I would assume they could catch you in 5 to 10 minutes.> I was at Barona today and they had a 1 Deck game with

The pen sucks (essentially rule of 5), but it is still a pretty decent game because of the rules: 3:2 BJ payout, H17, DA2, DAS, and late surrender. There are not many single deck games around with DAS and surrender. The off-the-top house edge is essentially nil with perfect single deck basic strategy.

The pit at Barona is quite sharp, and does indeed watch the single deck games closely (which is not to say that they ignore any of the games). However, they don't sweat small action. If your max bet is under $500 or so, you don't spread too brazenly or camp out, and you toke the dealer now and then and don't annoy the high roller regulars, you can play there for quite a while.

The poor pen makes for a lot of variance, though, and the game can take some really wild swings. Trust me on this one.

Exactly... the favorable rules make up for the crummy penetration. A level 2 ace-neutral count with more indices and a 1-3 spread gets a cScore of 55.
