    Small-timer: Circus Reno

I normally visit Reno about 5-6 times a year, but I haven't played much at Circus recently, so I tried to put in some time there on a 2-day trip this month. I was disappointed with the quality of the BJ games; they seemed noticeably worse than I remember. When I was able to find an open table, which wasn't very often, the penetration was poor (keep in mind, I'm only a nickel bettor). More often than not, the lousy dealers were Asian females. Has anyone else had a similar experience there recently? I'm hoping this was an aberration, and not a trend.

    Thanks,

    Small-timer

I have not played there recently, but Circus Reno has long been known for poor pen and preferential shuffling. Fortunately, there are plenty of better games elsewhere in Reno.

Parker, I wish I could agree with you on your latter point, but there aren't nearly as many BJ opportunities downtown as there were 7-8 yrs. ago (when we had Comstock, Riverboat, Flamingo & Sundowner). Maybe the games you're referring to are at the casinos on the outskirts of town(?). A few months ago I did find some decent games at Rail City and Silver Club (but I haven't been to Boomtown or W. Village in a long time). If anyone has visited these two places recently (or Bonanza), I would appreciate any observations you might have.

This place has been crap for a long time. It is so sweaty that when I sat down and bought in for $200 and put out 4 red chips on my first hand, the dealer yelled "Cheques Play".

There are so many "good" games in Reno, why in the world would you even waste your time?
