    Wanabe: Best Palm Springs Casino?

I'm planning on being in Palm Springs area and wanted to know which of the three casinos Sobaba, Aua Calented or SPA would be best to stay at?

I'm a green chipper and also looking for some good video poker. Would like to get food and room comp. What kind of action would they be looking for?

    Thanks,
    Wanabe

Well, since of those three casinos, only Spa has a hotel, that kind of narrows it down, don't you think? Also, Soboba isn't really close to Palm Springs. It may look close on a map, but there is a mountain in the way. A mountain with a lot of snow on it at the moment.

OTOH, Spa is right in the heart of Palm Springs. I've never gotten a room comp there (or tried to get one - Palm Springs is only a 2 hr drive from San Diego), so I don't really know what it takes. However, the hotel is small (about 200 rooms), and this is peak tourist season, so I would guess that it would not be an easy comp. Note: Don't even think about going there the week before Easter.

I've provided a link to their website below, where you can find a toll-free phone number. I suggest calling and talking to a host or table games supervisor regarding room comps.

VP offerings in most SoCal casinos are somewhat slim, with no positive games, and 9/6 JOB and an occasional NSUD at Spa being about As Good As It Gets. I don't believe that there is any cashback, and comps are earned at a relatively low rate, something like .1% IIRC.

You will probably want to check out Saboba or Spotlight 29. I can't tell you why, but if you know what to look for you will be quite pleased.

I stayed at the Fantasy Springs Hotel and Casino and was impressed with how nice it was (the hotel anyway). The casino looks old, BJ games can only split once+Mindplay, and the Buffet is average. Trump/Spotlight 29 and Fantasy Springs offer the same game but "29" has lower limits+no Mindplay. Found pit to be equally...uh...$killed

    - In my opinion the Casinos in and around Palm Springs aren't worth the drive.
    - Try Yuma, AZ. "Paradise Casino" (split 3x,DAS,DOA,AND H17)
