AdvantageRay: BEWARE! Harrah's Rincon (San Diego)

Just wanted to let everybody know that Harrah's Rincon is now offering 6:5 on their DOUBLE DECK. Not just their single and "superfun" anymore. Although I am not sure if all three tables are doing the 6:5 (I quickly left after getting a good laugh) considering the source, I am sure they are. Just wanted to warn everybody (Wongs CBJN doesnt have it updated yet) so that all of my fellow SOCAL players don't waste their time.

    Parker: Are you certain?

I did not observe this on a recent visit. The only 6:5 tables I saw were the two single deck games.

There are three DD games, two in the main table area, and one in the high limit room. All three were open while I was there and had normal 3:2 BJ payouts.

Any 6:5 games are an abomination, but let's not make it worse than it is.

Nothing in the post suggested that it was a joke. The purpose of these boards is to inform as well as entertain, and I take a dim view of anyone posting disinformation.

Sadly, the idea that Harrah's would offer 6:5 double deck games is all too believable.

then it was another sore loser spreading misinformation-you know the gamblers blame the dealer, blaming the casino instead of blaming themselves...

First of all, I would not state that kind of thing unless I saw it myself and sure as hell wouldnt joke about something like that. I have played the double deck there in the past with full 3:2 payouts, and like I said, I did not check the other two tables, this was the one on the last row, which if you played it, your back would be facing the cage. This was on Wed afternoon, Parker, have you been since then? The only thing I could say is that they had it on the removeable limit sign, so perhaps they change it along with the limits, changing the payouts of the table at will. Whichever the case, juding from the response looks like I will think twice before warning anybody on this page again. Waste your time for all I care, was just trying to help.

If you read the post, I never played. Take a closer look before you criticize...
As for the misinformation part, see above post.

It would appear that either Harrah's is experimenting, or perhaps you made an honest mistake. I merely want correct information - please don't take it personally.

Yes, I have been there since Wednesday. There are two double deck tables in the main pit area and one in the high limit area. I played at one of them and observed the other two long enough to watch someone be paid for a blackjack, just to make certain.

The two double deck tables are on the outside rows of the two pits in the main table area, both towards the end away from the high limit area.

One of the 6:5 single deck tables is two tables away from the double deck table on the west side of the table area (your back would be toward the cashier). The other is in the smaller pit in front of the Oasis lounge.

These table have signs that say "Single Deck Blackjack" in large letters, and "Blackjack pays 6:5" in smaller letters underneath. This sign is separate from the table limit sign. These are the only 6:5 payout signs that I saw anywhere in the casino.

Again, I did not intend my post to be any sort of attack against you, merely a correction of information that my own extensive investigation had found to be inaccurate.

It is entirely possible that Harrah's may be experimenting with 6:5 double deck. After all, they have even money BJ at the Rio in LV, and I have heard scattered reports of 6:5 double deck at various other properties.

    >Ray, if you read my POST,it says most players put on the blame game,I did not specify you.
I was there a few days ago and the 6/5 game was right beside the double..
If what you say is correct I did not see it as I played the dbl.

Sorry guys, I am normally not this testy. Must be the funky cough syrup Im on And here I thought the Codene was going to mellow me..

I can certainly understand your concern for misinformation. If it was a mistake (I am positive it was the double deck, if any mistake I misread the statement on the sign) I assure you it was an honest one on my part. Otherwise, Harrah's is up to something...and like you, I wouldn't put it past em.

Next time I will find out for sure by either watching a payout or just asking the dealer before posting here.

PS..Isnt that Rio game a new step toward the obsurd? Saw it in the CBJN and couldnt believe it. Whats worse, they have 16 of them.

I visited there on May 15 and played some pokers with Chris Monermaker. After that, I played the high limit DD game and they still payed 3:2 on backjack.

    Have fun.
