Battery: Blackjack in Arizona - update

Proposition 202 has received the necessary governmental approval so our Indian casinos will soon be able to increase the number of slots and start to offer blackjack. The local TV news item announcing this also showed a trainee dealer practicing an 8-deck shuffle.

I guess I'll continue the 7? drive to Las Vegas instead of 1 hour to the rip-off joints south of Tucson.

It may take some time before decent games are offered. Once they get comfortable dealing house-banked games, they will start considering ways to attract more players, one of which would be offering a variety of games.

At least, this was the pattern in California. At first it was all shoes, now double deck games are fairly commonplace, and even a single deck game here and there.

Competition is a wonderful thing. So is greed. :-)
