    Sonny: Indian Casinos

I've checked out a few of the casinos between LA and San Diego, but wasn't very impressed. Most of them, like Commerce and Oceans 11, only offer "California No-Bust" blackjack which has about 3 TIMES the house edge of regular blackjack. I checked out the new Harra's, but
    their game was horrible too.

I've heard that Pala has some good 4, 5, and 6 deck games, but that they raise the limits to $15 or $25 on evenings and weekends. I think they also use mostly continuous-shuffler machines now. Oh well, what's a boy to do?

Indeed. The non-Indian casinos cannot offer house-banked games or traditional blackjack, so you get some weird variants. The only way win at these games is to bank them, and at least at the local casinos, they are emphatically NOT looking for new bankers.

Harrah's was a major disappointment. I was really hoping that they would offer some double deck games. Instead, we get CSM's and 8 deck shoes with lousy rules and pen. This place has the worst blackjack in the county.

Pala has a bunch of CSM's, a few playable double deck tables that are usually $50 min or higher, and a handful of 6 deck shoes that are usually $15 or $25 min and very crowded.

See my wrapup of San Diego area conditions elsewhere on this page. The best games are in the eastern part of the county at Barona and Golden Acorn.
