Parker: Union-Tribune casino article.
Interesting article in the San Diego Union-Tribune regarding the rapid expansion of Indian casinos in San Diego county, and how it has affected the surrounding areas and the county in general. Link below.

It's interesting that they start the article with a degenerate gambler and his enabler.
Hey, thanks for the piece in BJF - read it twice already. I'm an extremely rusty counter who's working on getting his chops back. I have to admit, I didn't even know CA games had changed to real blackjack! Oops.
Anyway, it looks like I can use the SD/Palm Springs games for practice and short trips. It sounds like Barona is the best bet for my first trip.
Thanks again,

Not surprising, though. The U-T has always strongly opposed expansion of Indian gaming. Never mind all the good things that the Tribes have done for the county, not to mention the burden that has been lifted from county welfare services.

You don't get out much, do you? :-)
It's been over two years since Prop 1-A legalized house-banked blackjack.

That's what I do.

Indeed - Barona has the best conditions overall. The only problems are crowded conditions and high minimums on the pitch games. The pit is somewhat counter-tolerant towards low-moderate stakes players, providing that you don't spread too brazenly and are content to color up after a modest win.
BTW, I will be posting a detailed guide to the local casinos, similar to the BJF article, on this page in the near future. Stay tuned.
