    Pro21: action in S. CA

This is a question for Parker really since you know the San Diego area clubs. HHow well do they take action? How would the Acorn handle someone betting $500 a hand? It seems Barona would handle it well and Sycuan would sweat. How about the others.

Parker: Big action in San Diego

Barona indeed handles big action well. Table limits in the high limit area are $3,000, and they will raise if to $5,000 if asked. A lot of local high rollers play there.

Surprisingly, with the opening of their new high limit room, Sycuan also handles big action fairly well. I watched one of the San Diego Chargers betting $1,000 - $2,000 per hand, with out any unusual amount of attention. I really want to like Sycuan, but the game there is so bad . . .

Pala watches all action in the high limit area very closely.

Golden Acorn handles big action better than you might expect. There are several Mexicans from nearby Tecate, Mexico that come in there and bet black. Bets up to around $300 don't seem to get much attention. You will, of course, strongly be urged to get a players card.

Pauma handles action just fine right up to their low limits ($200 on the shoes, $500 on the double deck game).

I have never seen anyone bet serious money at Rincon, which is not surprising, because the game is so bad. I'm hoping things may improve when the new casino opens in August, but I'm not holding my breath.

Viejas handles up to around $500 w/no problem (table limit is $1,000), but again, the game is mediocre.

Valley View has the dubious distinction of being the sweatiest casino in San Diego county, especially the single deck games.

    The Mayor: Pechanga

Pechanga just opened their hotel. Is the game any different? Don't they have any good will towards counters at all?
