    BJnew23: dealer hole card

If the dealer does not check for BJ if the upcard is a 10:

Do a player BJ get paid before the game continues?
What happens if the dealer happens to have an Ace underneath, is dealer hand a BJ or just a normal 21?

I guess the rules will differ between casinos. But which are the commons ones? and common in what region?

    No.

    Blackjack.

In Europe, if you double or split and the dealer has a natural, you might lose all of your bets (referred to as ENHC -- European No Hole Card). In the U.S., almost always, you lose just your initial wager.

As long as you're paying attention when the dealer goes to swipe all your chips.
