    sam: dealers' hot hands?

Do dealers hit stiff hands more often than players? If they do hit stiffs more often, does this account for the player perception that dealers make an unreal number of stiffs into winning hands? Hot dealers and such like? Hitting a stiff seems to have an adavantage to the house. They gain a small plus by hitting the soft 17, don't they?

Not sure I understand the question. Of course they do! The rules of the game require the dealer to hit every stiff hand he has! Surely, you know that.

You'd have to ask each player! :-)

Yes. But A,6 is not a "stiff," the definition of which is a hand that is in danger of breaking with a single hit.
