    winner: How to count Hi-Low?

I know that in order to vary from basic strategy using hi-lo you must use the true count number of the decks remaining. My question is, in a round do I count all the cards up until it is my turn to hit or stand and then do a quick true count conversion or do one conversion after each round for betting and strategy variation? It seems to me that it would be better do a true count conversion after each round for betting and playing decisions. What is the proper way that Stanford Wong and others teach? I have Professional Blackjack by Wong but I could not find this in it anywhere. Thanks.

You should compute the true count at the moment you need to make any playing or betting decision. So yes, you will need to compute it several times per round. Once to compute the betting amount and at least one more time when it's your turn to play. If you hit or split, you'll need to compute it again after you receive your card.
