    thall: software question

I'd like to purchase software to improve my skills. I play mostly 6 deck shoes and use RAPC and HiOptI but would like to compare to HiLO & HiOptII. I would like to see and play different systems while working on speed and efficiency? Are Risk Aversion indexes part of these programs? (Also, I never learned computers as a youngster so for it to be useful to me it must be user friendly) Which if any software program you would suggest ?

You are actually talking about two different types of programs. First there is practice software. Essentially you play blackjack with your computer acting as the dealer. A good program will keep the count with your system of choice, letting you check yourself for accuracy and/or alerting you when you make a mistake. Practice software may also include drilling programs, for example, a program allowing you to virtually count down a deck (or decks). The best practice program by a wide margin is Casino Verite. Nothing else is even in the same league.

To compare the effectiveness of different systems you need a simulator. This program automatically plays millions, or even billions of hands in a relatively short time, enabling you to get to the "long run" immediately, and eliminating variance. Good simulators are CVData and SBA. CVData is newer, faster, and more user-friendly.

All Qfit products (Casino Verite, CVData, CVCX, CVShuffle) come with real pen & ink operator's manuals, as well as "wizards" that walk you through the programs.

Alternatively, you could simply get a copy of Blackjack Attack, 3rd Edition, and view the results of hundreds of sims that have already been done for you, along with plenty of insight on just exactly what all the numbers mean.

All of these products may, of course, be purchased through our online catalog.
