I've never seen an actual number, but, of course, it would depend on the spread you use, and all the other rules. It would also depend on how many indices you use.

I do the same thing. Yes, I would like to know.

    Don, I spread 1 - 12 on 6 deck H17, DAS, DOA, No surrender with pen around 70 %.

Am I still playing a winning game? I basically generated all of my indices for a 6 deck S17, DAS, DOA, No surrender, split 4 times game and using those on a H17 game that is the same basically.

I am still a winner on the H17 games if I look at my records but not by much.

I just got back from playing H17 games and lost 112 units. It is my first losing trip. I got my first losing trip after buying your book, Don. What's that all about ? Just kidding.

    MM: # of indices

I use 30 indices. I use the Basic Hi-Lo with a few more added.

All I want to know is if I would still be playing a winning game. I would think so.

And thanks Parker for the forum bypass. I went and got my rear kicked on my last blackjack trip and haven't been able to use it until now.

Not worth playing, if you have to play all. SCORE is less than $10.00.

It's not the indices that are the problem, but the rules and the very mediocre pen. You'd need a much bigger spread to make any kind of a dent in a game like this.

Records don't matter much. The game just isn't very attractive.

    There will be others!

Damn book. Good for nothing! :-)

As Don pointed out, this game is awful. He was actually being charitable - a quick look at CVCX reveals a SCORE of $8.97, and that's using a complete set of the correct indices and optimal betting! Since exact optimal betting isn't possible in a casino environment, your real-world earnings would be considerably less.

In other words, all the indices in the world won't turn this pig into a playable game. You might be able to improve things slightly with an agressive wonging strategy, but I think your time would be more productively spend in finding a better game.

An H17 no-sur game is tough to beat, even with good pen. I'd consider 75% to be an absolute minimum, and to be honest, that game still sucks.

Thanks for your advice parker. Yes, On my way home, I declared that I was never going back to that state. Thank god I don't live there.

I can find many S17 games, thankfully. I don't live in Vegas so I have to make do with what I have and usually it involves a game with no surrender. Check out the Heartland 21 pages. Awfully dead isn't it.

Wonging 6 deck S17 DAS, DOA, No surrender ??

Do I get a thumbs up for that ?

Don, your book inspired me. Your chapter on backcounting. The part where you talk about the rubber soled shoes. You are right. I am putting on my $20 reeboks instead.

Awfully dead? Have you read it lately? The truth is that those players that post and peruse there are too busy playing to post much at all. They may know something they care to keep mum about. Did you read about the bash? I take it you are from the Heartland. You should send me an e.mail, it is posted there, bjmaven @hotmail.com, and maybe we can include you in the upcoming "BJ Bash". If you want to play some fine games and meet and talk with other very serious players check it out.

I think you would enjoy it.

    Regards,
    Ouchez.

I you are playing a H17 game, I would add the following index plays as they are very important when playing H17.

    16 v A
    15 v A
