JOHN HUSTLER: Shocking Statistics!!!!
According to the Griffin Detective Agency that keeps tracks of advantage players, they have identified only 1,100 winning blackjack advantage players out of 51.2 million casino gamblers. That?s just one successful blackjack player for every 47 thousand casino players! Can you believe that!!!

Parker: Wait a minute
Where did you find this information?
Griffin does not release information regarding its database to the public. Furthermore, not all casinos are Griffin subscribers.
Are you sure you didn't just make this up?

80% of all statistics are fabricated on the spot to prove a point.

Norm Wattenberger: A thought
If the Griffin book had pictures of every advantage player, the pictures would probably be useless. Who would have the time or inclination to look through thousands of pictures? And even with no attempt at disguise, pictures would be in different clothing, lighting and angles.

. . . to ask your source for this figure? LOL!

It would not be possible/practical for them to 'identify' every winning player, not is that tha their intent. There are probably hundreds of thousands of undetected 'winning' players out there all over North America. But compared to the many millions who play blackjack and predicactably lose, it would not surprise me if advantage/winning players number in the order of only 1 percent or so.

suicyco maniac: 1%
Is probably a high estimate...Of the very few counters I actually see even fewer of them play a winning game. I would suspect not one out of 1,000 players even count cards and less then half of those who do count actually make a profit. The # gets even less when you consider how many are making a substantial profit....just my 2 cents...SM

Brick Waller: frankly,you're wrong.
I've been in action for over 10 years and have played blackjack all over the country. To this day i've only witnessed 4 competent card counters. There is absolutely no possible way hundreds of thousands exist.
You obviously have have very little (if any) experience of card counting in actual casinos. 1 out of every 10,000 might be long term winners. This is a more realistic figure.

ZOD: Not that many
I rarely run into players who know anything about basic strategy, much less counting. I guess I've seen around a dozen counters in the last decade or so. Probably several of those were so underbanked or overzealous that they are no longer in the game.
Best...

A friend of mine lives in Las Vegas and plays three nights a week, about a total of 15 hours. He's been there for over two years and just told me recently that he has never once had a counter at his table!

That statistic I posted the other day was from goldentouch blackjack(1,100 counter out of 51.2 million players). I think they posted that number to promote there product, I dont know. Im just so curious is to way casinos give advantage players such a hard time. There going to make a killing anyway. Its obvious from the previous posts that there are a very few counters out there. So why the big hassle from casinos. This is way I hate those jokers. Let the winners win and slay the dumb ploppies and people who split 6's against an ace. I love you guys for your informative posts. Im learning something new everyday. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

Dog Hand: Actually, it is 85%... no, wait...87%! ;-) *NM*

I used to race Mustange Gts and we had a saying that everybody ran 12's (1/4 mile time for those that don't know drag racing) till they were under the clock.
