    Aaron: TEAM PLAY - BASICS

    Hello again Guys,

Although I have ordered blackjack blueprint for teamplay, I wont be getting it for a couple of weeks due to delivery to the UK. However I just wanted to know whether someone could outline the basics for teamplay. Do you simply get people to signal you when the count is good and you come over and bet high when this happens, or is there a specific betting strategy to play. Also is teamplay just a better way of camoflaging a change of bets ?

There are a number of different variations of team play. The "big player/spotter" or "call-in" method is only one of many strategies that may be employed.

Many teams are simply a group of players who have pooled their bankrolls. There is no team play in the casino as such, they simply each play their individual games with their bets sized to the total bankroll. This allows everyone to play at higher stakes with the potential for larger winnings, and to reach the "long run" more quickly.

It will also, at least in theory, even out the swings (while team member A is getting his butt kicked at the tables, team member B is winning big). However, this does not always work out in practice unless the team is very large.

There are other methods of team play, many of which are not appropriate for discussion on an open board.

The most difficult part of team play is that each member must have complete and total confidence in every other member of the team, in terms of their personal integrity as well as their playing ability. If there is the smallest perception of doubt in either area, even if it is completely unfounded, then the team is doomed to failure.

Good post and I agree with all that you said in general. One specific. There are some very large teams where relatively small portions of total bankroll are allotted to generally young, less heavily trained and trusted players. In this case, personal integrity is not as acute a requirement. Also not appropriate for full discussion on an open board
