    Pereira: Sahara's "No Bust BJ"

Anyone have an opinion of Sahara's "No Bust Blackjack" game? I noticed 3 tables with this version of BJ. Are there any other casinos with this form of BJ; both were $2. min.

Most gimmick versions of blackjack (SuperFun 21, Double Exposure, Spanish 21, etc.) favor the house more than the basic game, and this one is no exception.

This ripoff really should not even be called blackjack. An ace and a face (or 10) are just . . . 21. If you win with one, it just pays even money. The game uses jokers, and the only way you get more than even money is with two of them, which pays 2:1. Since there are only 12 of them in the six deck shoe, this is not a common occurance.

If the player and the dealer both bust, and the dealer has a higher total, it is a push. A joker and any card (other than another joker) counts as 21. However, if the dealer has a joker upcard, players are not allowed to hit.

Bottom line: More than a 1% house edge, according to Stanford Wong.

    Stay away.
