Jon: Number of Players at a Table

    Hey everyone,

I use the KO counting method, and was wondering how the numbers of players at a table effect my game. I've been sticking to tables with the fewest players but sometimes you just can't find them. Is it time to leave when a table gets crowded? Thnx in advance

Adam N. Subtractum: more players=less hands=less win rate *NM*

A Wonger(such as myself)will play less hands and win more, than play all heads up. I avoid the bad counts, thus increasing ev.

" Is it time to leave when a table gets crowded?"

Only when the count goes bad.

crowded tables wont effect the edge you have over the casino AND it wont effect your risk of ruin.
It simply slows things down heaps so your win per hour will be less.

Exception: crowded tables will lower the edge a counter has over the casino in single deck games.

    Adam N. Subtractum: obviously...

...my comment was assuming all else being equal.

"A Wonger(such as myself)will play less hands and win more, than play all heads up. I avoid the bad counts, thus increasing ev."

EV sure, but not necessarily hourly win rate, which is what I was referring to.

Brick: Win rate is obvious also.

If wonging is done under good conditions, then win rate as well as ev will be MUCH better than the play-all(as many hands as possible) approach.

Many are mislead into believing "more hands=more money". This can easily be taking out of context and misunderstood. The correct quote is "more+ev hands=more money".

While a counter is eking out negative counts and putting in the so called "hands per hours",I'm eking out positive counts and putting in the "hands observed". My win rate is at a higher level even though I'm playing fewer hands than the former card counter.

Play-all to get in more hands per hour is only efficient and may have a higher win rate than a wonger only if you are using HUGE spreads and betting more.
