    newby: Quit points strategy???

What do you think of quit points strategy, as proposed in Twenty-first Century Blackjack, by W. Thomason? It seems very dubious to me, but still I'd like to have the advise of skilled players.

    Thank you

A 'quit point' that ignores the count only has an effect if you never enter a casino again for the rest of your life. If you go back - then you didn't really quit. As for Thomason, I have had long discussions with him. He knows amazingly little about BJ considering he wrote a book about it and has no understanding of simple concepts of mathematics. This is not meant as an insult. He truly has no grasp of BJ other than the basic rules.

I didn't know that. Thank you for your time.

He also wrote "Blackjack for the Clueless" which I browsed at a bookstore once. I remember seeing some discussion of card counting and didn't notice anything on progressions.

    Sun Runner: Wondering

I was slumming on another board and noticed you posting under a different handle there. I guess technically it was two identical posts, as posted here. I am assuming they were both yours.

I understand your desire to get input from others, but wouldn't it be easier for all concerned if you used the same handle?

I agree. I just didn't think of it before posting my messages. Sorry.
