maestro: best places to play in St. Louis area

What are the best places to play in the St. Louis area? There are six casinos in the area and only one-the Casino Queen-stands on soft 17. Is this the best game then?

Dog Hand: Casino Queen is Good...

...because they stand on soft 17. Also, being in Illinois, they have no "$500 buy-in limit" every two hours, like all the Missouri casinos have.

You might also consider the casino in Alton, IL, for the same reasons.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information. The $500 loss limit is not an important consideration for me because I play low-stakes. But for some others it is important. I know a guy who drops that amount on $5 slots and then can't play anymore because he hit the loss limit.

    Dog Hand: Change of Heart...

    maestro,

Since posting my previous comment in this thread I visited the CQ and found that the penetration was appalling: every dealer I saw cut off at least 2 decks, and most cut off over 2.5. Were they hit by a team of high-stakes counters?

I'd rather play the H17 games with much better pen.

Sorry about "barking up the wrong tree" ;-)

Brick: The Casino Queen = incompetence, sweat and ignorance.

The Alton belle had a 2 for 1 bj promo way back in 93' which i was fortunate enough to attend. They took a big hit and word was out AB lost money.

Due to the Queen's incompetent mangement and understanding of blackjack, they assumed the money was won by a big "card counting" team when in fact it was won because of the 2 for 1 bj promo. They promptly changed table conditions and half-shoed every bj table for years, then gradually sweated out to dealing 3 1/2 decks to this day.

This ridiculous mistake of incompetent management has caused the Queen to lose millions in potential bj profits as we speak...and yet the song remains the same. I'll never understand how stupid they can be. Besides East St louis is murder capitol USA. You're better off taking the 4 1/2 hour trip to Tunica where you have good action, selection and better odds of not getting robbed or murdered
