Wildcard: BIG nix on Harrah's Cherokee!

This place is the worst excuse for a casino on this planet...BAR NONE!! BC in Vegas is heaven compared to this ripoff. I cringe when the tv advertisements come on here in the Atlanta area and tout this place as wonderful. They do have live dealers, but all the decks are "electronic" and programmed to automatically shuffle at the 50% point. A pox on this place!!

Don't ever waste your time entering this sewer, drive on to the Smokies and enjoy the scenery. Cade's Cove would be an excellent choice to see how things were way back when.

I dunno about that ? what about the $36-million Chippewa Tribe Indian casino in MI built on land where gambling is illegal? You can eat in great restaurants, enjoy some nice shows, but the 26 tables and 800 slots are dead. THAT is the worst excuse for a casino, IMO.

can't speak for the Chippewa deal, or legality but at least they have clean water and great restaurants. I understand that the governor of North Carolina had his finger in not having real table game action. Perhaps someone else can jump in on this one. He could be related to the Colorado governor who insisted on limiting your top wager in the Black Hawk area to $5.00.

26 tables?? Harrah's Cherokee has a small area in the very back of the smoke-filled joint that doesn't come close to 26 tables. The humans are there only to continue to place chips into the chip tray. The place is rife with slots that are beyond pathetic and the whole place should be imploded.

Sadly, my next door neighbors enjoy making the 3 hour +/- drive there to play penny slots. When I see them after their trip, they are excited to win $30 or $40 per trip, they generally lose. I'd get comatose watching those multi-reel slots spin all those characters around and around. I always low-key any comments to them about my casino trips, I don't think they could handle the word "thousand(s)".

Trust me, Harrah's Cherokee is indeed the sewer I've described. How bad? Not even John Patrick would play there!

....Ummm, I'm not so sure of that, WC.

Hell, Patrick claims that if you follow his methods, you can beat any game.

    Yeah, right.

P.S. Any recent word on "The" Barbeque place that we enjoyed? Maybe sometime in the distant future, we just might do it again, pal. I wonder if the eye candy is the same as it was......

The place has recovered and doing business. It has a marker near the entry door that shows the high water mark of 5' of Katrina water that far inland! The eye candy is part owner, thus I suspect the next visit will be as good or better than the last. Got a freebie mailer from the BR, guess I'll have to visit the coast and check out the barbeque first hand.

BTW, those lemons are finally slowly turning yellow. Will ship you a few when they appear ripe enough.

    WC
