    sam: indiana riverboat move?

I heard a rumor today that the Grand Victoria boat in Rising Sun, IN might be moved to Jeffersonville, IN across the river from Louisville. Anyone heard anything about that?

Considering how they're squeezed between Argosy and Belterra, that would probably be an excellent move for them. However, I would think that Harrah's would do everything they could to try to stop it.

    RP,

Yes, I'd think they'd want to keep their stranglehold on the Louisville area. The competition might be nice though. I've wondered if Harrah's isn't trying to get h17 here like they have everywhere else. Do you know if their northern IN boats are h17? Or is that against IN regs?

Won't happen. The State Casino Licenses are tied to the location not to the Company.

So, State Legislature would have to cancel the existing license for the Rising Sun location (which wouldn't go over very well with the voters of Rising Sun)

Issue a new license for the other location (over the objections of every other location wanting a casino).

Then Hyatt would have to win the bid for that license against every other casino company wanting to do business with the State.

A much more likely scenario would be Hyatt abandons Rising Sun property and it is taken over by another casino company in the same location.

All of the casinos in Indiana are currently S17. I think, but am not certain, that H17 is against IGC regs. FWIW, another counter I know was told by a floor supervisor at Aztar last year that the IGC rejected Aztar's request for 6:5 SD.

    SOT,

Clark County, across the river from Louisville, had a couple of votes on casino gaming and opted out both times. I don't know if another vote can be held or not. I think there is a sense that some of these counties that opted out made a big mistake in doing that. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Thanks for the explanation. I didn't know you played in this area.
