Ken Fuchs: BJ at Ho-Chunk, Baraboo

I'm gonna be up there next week. Anyone know what their game is like these days?

    Regards,

See Scobee 1 Winnebago report below. I assume he is talking about Ho-Chunk. If not what casino are you talking about Scobee.

    Electric Kid: Winnebago now Ho-Chunk

And they have 3 casinos in WI(Ho-Chunk, Majestic Pines, and Rainbow Casino). The Ho Chunk casino is near Wisconsin Dells a great tourist and resort area. See link below for story of the Winnebago(not the RV)

I just love reading about the natives for insight and illumination I actually took a class in college about native religious beliefs. I wish we could assimilate their theosophy into our culture, but most people have a sense that their primitivism precludes great wisdom.

Thanks for the referral. Yes, I meant the report to be interpreted as you stated. Ken, you should definitely be aware that this is a recreational palace and nothing but a 'grind with russian ginches.'

    Turtle made me say it.

fin648: Are you aware of any barrings

at Ho-Chunk or other Wisconsin casinos?

I would agree with your report below that there is little heat and you can spread 1-10 without cover. Are they unique because of their basically unplayable game? What about the heat at other Wis. casinos?

    scobee 1: Barrings

I am not familiar with your handle. So the answer is yes.....and no.

You can be barred anywhere if you win too much or play flagrantly. I saw a ploppie who ran $1000 to $90,000 get half-shoed. He didn't have a clue but left anyway for the slight. Fortunately for the casino, his gambling jones brought him right back and he busted out. This was not in Wisconsin.

Every casino has at least one designated counter catcher who would like to justify his job. As per specific instances and casinos, I am afraid you will just have to guess. I can think of at least a few events beyond preferential shuffling in the past year in Wisconsin with winning players. The natives, like most casinos, would rather err on the side of less variance, which means big wins get the most attention, but obvious skilled play is also a threat.

    Draw your own conclusions...

    fin648: Who I am

There's no reason you should recognize my handle. I'm mostly a recreational player who likes to have an advantage when I do play. Therefore, I don't post much since I wouldn't have much to add. I also don't have too many questions because I have a decent bj library and have been 'lurking' (and learning) on these message boards for quite some time.

A friend of mine had a couple of big wins there before the table spreads were limited. He is not a threat but said he was asked once about another player who won big. He didn't say anything since they were only acquaintances. So you are right. It's best not to be too obvious.

    Thanks for the reply.

I wouldn't sell yourself short. I think you have already contributed to this board. Questions about heat are always an important topic, and thus your point required I respond. I hope my veiled information was helpful.....the message being that it is never too early to tune into the opponent's frequency.
