    Artguy: Kewadin Vegas Casino

I am planning my next trip through the UP and wonder if the games at the Kewadin are accurately described in trackjack as to pen and house advantage? Also, Is this an enjoyable place to play? Should I go for comps as a red player? Thanks for any insights you can give me.

    Forget about the comps.

Room rates are cheap this time of year if you need to stay over.

You will enjoy the games and most of the people.

Some Kasinos very warm and friendly, some not so.
Show respect to the locales or they will make things uncomfortable for you.

Overall you will enjoy the trip, I think, but it is good that you go and form you're own conclusions.

The special trademark of the Kewadin games is double on split aces(you can double for less)and late surrender. When I asked at one of the Kewadin casinos a while back if all Kewadin casinos had the same rules I was told yes. As far as I know this is still true and if it isn't I would hope someone would speak up. The rules as listed in Trackjack for Sault St Marie and Christmas are correct but not for St Ignace and Manistique. I would use the rules listed for Sault St Marie as your guide for all the Kewadin casinos. Also remember Kewadin casinos is famous for its hide rule if everyone busts. Trackjack doesn't mention it on its double deck game, but I believe it applies to its double deck game as well. I feel the pen as listed in Trackjack is accurate for the Kewadin casinos.

The last time I played at Kewadin St Ignace I asked for and got a meal comp, and I was playing at the red chip level.

If you are certain that the info in TrackJack is inaccurate, post an update. If you are not certain, drop Michael a heads-up e-mail, so that he can look into it, or post something on the TrackJack forum.

Michael puts a great deal of work into TrackJack, but ultimately it is only as good as the subscribers make it.

Unlike the 6D games, Kewadin DD does not offer double after split aces, and you are limited to D10 insted of DA2.

Electric Kid: Agree, Ouchez is the expert...

on Kewadin casinos. Ouchez, don't all the Kewadin casinos have the same rules? I know there are different rules for 6 deck vs 2 deck, but the rules are the same for all Kewadin casinos right?
I'm not talking about pen just the rules.

    scobee 1: My impression

is that they are all the same...even same chips. Put that in you pipe and smoke it when you have an excessive number of those stoopid white colored hundred dollar chips, and want to structure.

I think Fernando was 100% accurate about the rule changes for DD.

Nathan would find me remiss if I didn't mention that their Detroit Casino is a horse of a different color, although not having been to Detroit and presently on my way to hit the hay, I cannot say what color that horse might be.

    Ouchez,

Thanks for the kind words about my trip report. I dedicate it to you, since I may have been a little hard on you lately. Glad you enjoy the debate, because from the beginning you have been an inspiration.

What are the rules and regs at the Kewadin in Detroit? It would interest me to know how they have 'adapted,' I also may be paying a visit there this month to see our buddy.

    Regards,

    bond trader: Kewadin Detroit

Greektown casino in Detroit is in a cool area of town, but most of thier games stink. Two months ago they converted all 6d tables into 8d except in the high limit area. The H-L area (min bets of $25 and $50) is a decent 6d game (rules at GT are s17, das, rsa), but the rest of the casino is half CSM and half 8d with pen that ranges greatly from possibly playable to abyssmal.

If you happen to win any money there, the line for the cashier usually averages between 5 and 30 people long. In short, cool location, crap games, crap serivce, but Detroiters are so used to being treated like crap that they don't know any better. Have fun!
