Electric Kid: What would you like to see on this page

Okay all Heartland blackjack players, how would you like to see this page develop? What kind of posts would you like to see here, and what don't you want to see posted?

Do you like reading trip reports? If so speak up and say so. Would you like to get more information on casino playing conditions, good food and places to stay? Then speak up and say so. Do you consider some items to be to sensitive to be posted here? Then express those feelings. How about tall tales that contain only some truth? (remember the tall tales over at bj21 on the free midwest page) We have some good story tellers out there, scobee 1, ET Fan, bond trader, milk man and a few others come to mind.

This page is ready to take off. It will only go where you posters want it to. Encourage and contribute to posts you like and discourage posts you don't like.

GreatCalloftheNorthEast: Is CT part of the Heartland?

I saw your post on BJ21 and you mentioned this forum was for the midwest and the east.

Are you interested in Connecticut? Is that part of the "Heartland?" I'm a fairly regular player (although not a counter) at Mohegan Sun. And an occasional player at Foxwoods.

Are you interested in reports on the conditions there? And if so, specifically what type of info? # of tables, minimums, maximums, crowds, CSR's???

    Let me know.

    Parker: Sure

We settled on "Heartland 21" as the name for this page because "Everything in the USA not covered on the South & West or Las Vegas Everything page" wouldn't fit in the index frame. :-)

The early emphasis has been on the midwest, simply because there seems to be a lot of interest in that area, and we received numerous requests to create a page of this nature.

However, posts concerning the eastern casinos, whether those in the Connecticut area or Atantic city, are certainly appropriate and most welcome.

ET Fan: Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!

If I had my druthers, area pages like this would be dry as hell. I know some people LIVE to share their adventures, but that can be counter-counter-productive -- or should I say counter-UNproductive. ;-) For example, if posts here cost the average reader more than $5/yr. in EV through casino counter measures, barring, etc., I'll bet they would vote to have the board evaporate quicker than a hard 26.

I don't think posts should be a free advertisement for casinos. You won't catch me saying anything good, EVER, about any casino! It's just not necessary. For example, I'd never say penetration has improved at casino XYZ, I'd say it seems to have increased somewhat, then give a figure. The best thing I'd ever say about a casino is that it's not as bad as some others.

Trip reports can be fun, but casino conditions should be spelled out with dry ststistics, and if two counters ever darken the door of a casino simultaneously, this should NEVER be divulged. Casinos are very paranoid about teams, and with reason. There's plenty of drama just in your own tales of triumph and despair, unless the story is complete fiction and clearly presented as such.

Looking forward to a boring, informative board.

Trip reports are some of the most entertaining types of posts. The author can certainly change or omit the name of the casino, and not give the exact date of his visit, if there's reason to believe this info could cause damage. I agree that useful answers to people's questions about strategy are great, but we need the trip reports to spice things up now & then. Everyone here has laughed at one time or another while reading some of the more outrageous trip reports.

Let's keep it as informal as possible, promote a friendly atmosphere and fully enjoy this chance to share experiences & info.

    Just my 2 cents.....

mnplayer: NOT exposes of great games

I'm delighted to see this forum. I would like to see forum objectives include:
    - Enable advantage players to network, develop trust, and meet each other, virtually or 3 dimensionally.
    - Share thoughts and information on blackjack theory, counting systems, resources, and technology.
    - Share thoughts and information about local casinos EXCEPT POSTINGS WHICH EXPOSE THE MOST ADVANTAGEOUS LOCAL GAMES.

If advantage players get to know each other, we can discuss specific games outside of the forum and avoid helping the casinos isolate and shut down the good games.

    Thanks for the forum!
