newtocc: Frustrating hands.
The most frustrating hands in blackjack are the following:
when you have an 11, double, get a nice picture with a big bet out and the dealer also gets 21.
lower your bet then get a blackjack.
get a blackjack with a big bet out, and the dealer also has blackjack. (when you didn't take insurance)
double on a 10 get a 10 with a big bet and the dealer gets 21.
not winning with a 20, with any size bet.

With the greatest respect, none of the hands you mention is nearly as frustrating as:
Max bet on two hands, with astronomical true count. Splits and doubles get as many as eight or ten top bets on the felt. Totals are all pat hands, with many 20s, vs. the dealer's 6.
Dealer draws five consecutive small cards for 21 -- not a picture in sight, despite the highest true count you've ever witnessed. "Swing" is 16-20 top bets on the single turn of the dealer's last hit card.
Nothing in the game comes close to this type of hand.
How many times has this happened to me in my lifetime? More than I could possibly count!

You've got my frustrating hands beat with that scenario.
When you say many 20's, do you mean other players got the 20's and you ended up with the pat hands?

No, all the hands I was referring to were mine.

That's the ultimate insult, ok. But this one rivals. Two max bets with 20 on each with the insurance index x4. Dealer's flips over an ace. Next two rounds, dealer draws to 21 with the same two max bets. Hot Dog!

Sometimes 2 aces can seem like a godsend that your lucks turning around. Worst thing ever is when you have AA against a dealers 6 you miss blackjack both times and finish with a 17-19 hand on both and by the worst strokes of luck imaginable the dealer finishes with 20-21. Kills me every time.
