56v6doubleit?: hilo and data base
Hi-
I've had Norm Wattenberger's Casino Verite program for about a year and highly recommend both it and the support that Qfit offers. Norm is a fantastic guy and has been a tremendous help.
A couple of issues I need to reach out on. I attached CVBJ to 1994 basic Hi-lo and learned to count using those tag values and indexes. Norm's data bases which help you calculate betting ramps appear to be configured for a number of other stratgies but not Hi-lo. Does anyone know of a product that has a data set for Hi-lo?
Last, I still consider myself a relative babe in the woods. I read that an efficient player can manage about a 1% advantage. My understanding is this means that you would win about 10k for every 1 Million dollars bet. Using a betting ramp of $15-2 and under, $75 for three, $100 for 4, $150 for 5 and $250 for 6 over and Atlantic City Rules with surrender, it took me about 44k hands to bet 1 Mil. 44k hands is about 733 hrs of play at 60 hands per hour. An expected $10k/733 hrs is about $13.68 dollars per hour. Does anyone know if my betting ramp is just screwy or could recommend changes? Is my logic wrong or is 13 bucks an hour something like the expected earnings on a $15 table wiht a $500 max?

Amen to that.

Doesn't seem possible. You're missing something. If Norm featured but a single system, it would likely be Hi-Lo.

See the BJA3 Chapter 10 charts.

Right.

Why are you making a minimum bet at +2? That's wrong. In a 4.5/6 S17 DAS game, your edge at +2 is 0.88%. You also have an edge of 0.35% at +1. Why wouldn't you be raising your bets there? BIG mistake. Also, waiting till +6 is too late for your top bet.

EGADS!! Surrender, too!! Even bigger edge!!

Unfortunately, your betting is all wrong.

Why 60 hands? That's the number for a full table. Hopefully, you're not playing that way. You should be getting at least 100 hands per hour.

Yep.

State your bankroll size and your preferred risk of ruin, as well as the exact rules and conditions of the game, and we'll suggest a more appropriate bet ramp, along with percentage advantage and hourly win rate.

Don-
Lets see how many things could I have been wrong about. CVCX can attach to Hi-lo. I purchased CVCX. Looks like more appropriate betting strategies would be, according to CVCX in line with your comments. I'm playing with the sims to see how much risk versus EV I can accomodate.
I'm a hobby player and don't want to re-fi the house to play. So trying to keep my risk relatively small while I learn but large enough to cover my negative counts. I have a $4k bankroll that is set aside from any other need to play. Small I know, but would like to stay married.
Looking at-
+1 20
+2 50
+3 100
+4 125
+5 150
I also have some ability to replenish my bankroll but thinking that I have to sit at the table long enough for my seat to get warm if I want to learn anything. I've played a couple of hundred thousand hands on Casino Verite. Thanks for your response.

Woops, forgot to give you game rules. Pardon my inexperience
Double After Split, an additonal two hands total of three
Dealer stands on all 17s
Surrender
Split any two matching values
Double any at first two cards
Penetration- Gawd I'm awful but will guess a deck and a half out of a total of eight decks.
Its Harrah's in Philly/Chester. Trackjack probably has a better penetration estimate.
