• Manhattan Casino?

They are still talking about a casino in Manhattan, and will be for quite some time. This time it is Wynn proposing a casino in Hudson Yards. This actually makes sense. It would be next door to the Javits Convention Center, is close to Penn Station and there is a new subway from Grand Central Station. That is, it is accessible from the NYC subway system, and trains from three lines in NJ, Connecticut, Long Island, and the East Coast. There is space as it would be built on a ten acre platform built over train tracks. Hudson Yards is the largest mixed use development project in American history.

But, the approval process is a nightmare and most Manhattanites don't want a casino.

Norm, What's the tallest of those 3 buildings (in the middle of the pic) in the article? I don't recognize it. Last time I was in that area was on the Hudson River Greenway on a Citibike about 6 months ago, so I must have gone by it.

Haven't been on the West side for ages. I've looked at a lot of the new residential buildings there online -- don't like them despite the grand views. The buildings were built in the last three years -- pandemic times. There still remains a serious problem with filling office space here. Meanwhile, residential prices are beyond extreme.

      I think it's this: a new condo.

Yeah. $22,405 per month rent average. I don't even like the neighborhood. The small, odd looking building in the foreground is quite interesting. Unfortunately, they keep having to shut it down because people commit suicide off it.

      Thanks for the info, guys.

Norm - expensive? The 10K sq ft penthouse is only $50M (and under contract)!

Good point. The penthouse in the Crown Building (Aman) is only 6,800 sq. ft. and went for $74 million this year. But that was before the oligarchs started moving out.
