Blackjack is alive and well in PA, they offer a decent game. I see lots of AC dealers who followed the players out of AC on occasion. Some dealers and pit people moved all the way to Pittsburgh when they opened up, many went to the Philadelphia area casinos, they scattered all over. AC will now have to make up for these continuing losses by implementing 12D, H17, no DAS, 6:5, 6/12 and doubling up on some parking fees...

As usual the leaders in gross increase are the ones that instituted better pen in the time frame. I am not sure why casinos continue to choose to make less money with card counting countermeasures than card counters ever cost them. I guess the decision makers are just stupid.

I think AC should create a new BJ variant called "F U Blackjack" designed to catch drunks wandering in off the boardwalk or in case the banjo player from "Deliverance" strolls in. 8D, H17, 6/8, 6:5, you know... "Today's shoe games" but there's a catch. If the dealer draws a card and doesn't make a hand or busts with that card, it goes into the discard and he draws another card until he makes a hand between 17-21. If the dealer has to draw three or more cards to finally make a hand, the player has to lose double... this is known as the "reverse double down"... This will surely offset the losses to competition offering better games.

Ya think! It is a prerequisite for any casino manager that he be lobotomized. If there is a collective group of managers in any industry on the face of the earth more painfully ignorant than casino managers, you'd be hard-pressed to find them. The question is why the industry draws the stupidest people on the planet. Hard to figure.

Norm is correct re: the ubiquitous stupidity found in the casino industry.

Long ago it occurred to me that anyone willing to spend their careers in

a smoky environment dealing with mouth-breathers must overcome the

patent guilt feelings connected to an unethical industry that serves only

to (not-so-slowly) separate the poor and middle class from their assets.

It recently dawned on me this good metephor for the casino industry/management view of itself and gamblers, to wit: "I'm a college basketball team. All highschool basketball teams are welcomed opponents (i.e., ploppy gamblers) anytime. Sometimes you'll get lucky and maybe score some points, that's ok! But, if I perceive you (i.e., an intelligent gambler) are another college basketball team, I'm not playing you (i.e., backed-off or 86).

That's a simpler way to explain it to the masses in language they can easily understand.

What happened at Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin? Table games revenue down 30.87% while total revenue was only down 0.37%. I thought that the rules at all PA casinos were legislated, so it can't be the rules, per se. Similar situations at Mohegan Sun Pocono and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course. Anyone have any insight?

Lady Luck is managed by Isle of Debris (intentional pun) and they are notoriously sweaty.

The location is a big drawback and I believe that the casino is only accessible by resort guests.

The other two casinos cited are sweaty and offer cutoffs in excess of 2 decks. Enough said.
