• Report calls for New Jersey casinos near New York

Hard to believe no one has yet built a casino near all this money. The only casino in the city has no gaming tables -- but paid the state $618 million last year. It has the highest slot revenue in the country, and I doubt most NYers know it exists, much less where it is.

The demographics make sense even with the proliferation of casinos over the years causing competition to take business out of Atlantic City. I think about what it's like up that way and picture a casino planted in Jersey City or surrounding towns getting the same sort of press that Sugarhouse in Philadelphia is getting right now all at the same time. North Jersey is like another planet. It is the twilight zone and you are no longer in New Jersey, you are in "Joisey". If you are unfamiliar with what I am talking about, simply watch a few Troma films and understand that they all went to Tromaville High School.Hahahaha
