• Yet a new name for the Atlantic Club?

The Atlantic Club (AKA The Grand, Bally’s Grand, the Atlantic City Hilton Casino Hotel, ACH) likely to reopen as a non-casino hotel. A.C. was once a booming resort. That was long ago. It looks like the only solution to the city is to concentrate on non-casino attractions. But, that's a difficult path to imagine. The effort spent in worrying about card counters looks quite silly when you think of the billions lost by Atlantic City casinos over its history. How many times did Trump's casinos go bankrupt? Bring back Early Surrender and heavily advertise the return of the golden days of real casino games. 99.9+% of blackjack players don't know and won't learn ES strategy.

seriously, ac will sweat people playing 10 and 15 min 8 deck das h17 games with 1.5 to 2.2 cut off. Its crazy, in this town if you bet black and have your hair slicked you get a free pass for a month as long as you avoid revel basically. Its really too late for them, instead of offering better rules, 6:5 8 deck shoes are becoming the norm and here to stay

Offering the worst games imaginable as Smallcapgrowth says, those 8D,H17 games in AC are completely unplayable unless you are there for amusement purposes only. ACs local competitors offer a better blackjack game so what are they going to do, say "Let us entice you back to Atlantic City with our hands down sh*tt**st blackjack game in the region"? How about "Do AC... For those too stupid to know the difference!"

This is about a bigger picture in which a conspiracy of greed and stupidity combine to ensure the lack of ability to come up with a workable financial solution. AC was used to being the only kid this side of town and the only other US option was Vegas. AC raked it in for 27 straight years, piling up money in an exponential gain, building more casinos and always making more in gaming revenue than the year(s) prior. Someone someplace caught on and right along with state lottery drawings, which are a huge cash cow for state governments they saw the light and starting building casinos also.

Think about what sort of bold and brazen mentality the bean counters of AC had when they publicly proclaimed that PA casinos would only take away 10% of their business, not enough to worry about. I hope AC casinos are no longer taking financial advice from the guys who said that but it's no matter, they are about totally f*ck*d either way, even if they fired those idiots. Spending was off the chart and the sky was the limit for many years but now that money has tightened up and competition floodgates have opened, management of AC casinos have no clue what to do and have no clues on a working financial solution. This is not something that many of the old cronies ever had to deal with! For all those years the money piled in so very easy so the only thing they had to worry about was banging themselves out the right sort of juicy bonuses or spending huge dollars on pet projects. To have to worry about budget constraints or solvency issues was not a part of their vocabulary! The State of NJ was piling it in also. Then some things happened...

To gouge a little more a little faster out of the public will not help achieve their objectives, only piss off the public but this is what they've done to try and compensate. It's sort of like squirming in quick sand, you end up getting sucked in deeper and worsen your situation. AC is in the quicksand and starting to squirm?

It seems like the easy money is long gone along with the glory days of AC which was way before my time. Good point Tarzan... Budget constraints and solvency issues should be at the forefront of their plan in addition with offering great games with great rules. I think that management is out of touch with what the players want, there is a disconnect.
