• Las Vegas casinos make record $20 million on Superbowl

A record $119 million was bet on the game in Nevada casinos. It looks like the books did poorly of prop bets. But, most of the money was on Denver.

It is incorrect to ASSUME that a slight favorite has "most" of the money bet on it.

That is generally the case, but the Smart Money that the Sports Books use to set the earliest betting line

established the Seattle Seahawks as the 2 point favorites. The public ever worshipful of Peyton Manning

severely over bet the Denver Broncos. Bookmakers are smarter than you think and OFTEN will take a position

on a team; mostly on underdogs facing over-bet favorites. The myth of the "balanced book" is often just mythic.

That is why on some weekends when all or most of the underdogs fail to win, the Sports Books cry crocodile tears.
