You know that the majority of these people's primary source of hydration, or dehydration, was likely alcohol doing them in even sooner.

I walked the strip in Vegas 6 years ago at 116 degrees. They had huge fans blowing a cold mist every so often which I thought was perfect. I went in most casinos during the walk and always had a beer, but downed water between beers. Alcohol will dehydrate you, even on cool days. Do they still have those fans? On TV I didn't see them, but saw many people walking the strip. Be there this fall.

It's outrageous that the most Vegas casinos don't have water fountains by the bathrooms.

That headline reads a lot worse that what actually happened. 172 people were treated with shade and water on site. So the festival set up a tent where you could go for some shade and water. Less than one percent of the people at the festival used there services. I guess thirty-four peopel actually being hospitalized wasn't a big enough story so they had to fluff it up.
I'd wager that Red Bull and other energy drinks had quite a bit to do with the dehydration.
